Course Details

In this course, you will learn how to configure VNX file-level access for Microsoft Windows and Linux user/application environments via NFS and CIFS. Initial storage system configuration, security, and availability using Unisphere are also covered. NAS configurations, including networking, file system creation and export in Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and VMware ESXi environments are explored. You will also learn how to configure and manage file-based local replications solutions.

The course covers a wide range of topics in detail, and includes hands-on lab exercises that reinforce the concepts covered in lectures. It is strongly recommended that only participants with the necessary prerequisite skill set attend this course.

Course Prerequisites

To understand the content and successfully complete this course, you should have knowledge and skills associated with the following:

  • VNX system architecture
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Ethernet switch configuration, including management of switch features like VLANs, Ethernet settings, including duplex, throughput, and port channeling
  • Basic Microsoft Windows and UNIX administration skills (managing users/groups, files, and directories)
  • Basic VMware ESX/ESXi operations and management
