Cisco IOS Automation and Customization - CIOSC v1.0
Description
Cisco IOS Automation and Customization (CIOSC) is a two-day instructor-led training with hands-on labs that will provide the learner with an overview of the Embedded Management, Monitoring, and Automation features of Cisco’s IOS product family. This course provides the knowledge to transform your network devices from static building blocks to intelligent and dynamic participants that operate at a higher level. CIOSC v1.0 – Cisco IOS Automation and Customization course provides the power to go beyond the standard IOS configuration and explore the ability to customize, enhance, and extend IOS operation. Moreover, In CIOSC v1.0 – Cisco IOS Automation and Customization The course explores the built-in IOS tools for: monitoring traffic, measuring performance and operation, reacting to critical events, enhancing the IOS User Interface and using the Embedded Event Manager to connect all of the functions together. In-class activities include configuration Exercises and Case Studies that demonstrate the real-world usage of these features.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to manage the Cisco IOS at a higher level than simple CLI commands and be able to customize, extend and enhance IOS devices beyond their traditional usage:
- Use the Progrizon toolkit of Cisco commands to customize IOS operations to meet specific customer requirements for device management and event notification
- Describe how each toolkit component relates to IOS operations, the Embedded Event Manager (EEM) and other IOS customization tools
- Customize traffic monitoring processes on a Cisco IOS device using the Flexible NetFlow, Network-Based Application Recognition (NBAR) and Embedded Packet Capture (EPC) tools
- Customize IOS device operation and performance measurement using the IP-SLA, Enhanced Object Tracking (EOT) and Embedded Resource Manager (ERM) tools
- Customize the user interface of a Cisco IOS device using the Tclsh, Embedded Syslog Manager (ESM), Kron, IOS.sh, Embedded Menu Manager (EMM), Expression-MIB and Event-MIB tools
- Deploy the Cisco Embedded Event Manager as glue logic to affect IOS operation, management and monitoring using various tools in the IOS customization toolkit
Prerequisites
Participants should come with a working knowledge of the Cisco IOS command line interface (CLI):
- Perform the self-assessment exam provided on the ANI course registration web page
